GPL V3 Q&A and changes within the Free Software Foundation

Luis Villa wrote a very good GPL V3 Q&A series currently in 4 parts focusing on the license itself, its impact to developers and companies. While not (yet) a lawyer (he’s currently taking up law), he was part of GPL Discussion Committee A. Luis has a disclaimer about these writings btw.

In other news, not many people may have been aware of it, but Benjamin “Mako” Hill is now part of the FSF Board of Directors. I’ve worked with Mako on some projects and is a co-member of the Ubuntu Community Council. His writings, opinions and projects that revolve around free software make him an excellent edition to the FSF leadership, not to mention lowers the average age of the group :).

It is always a joy to see friends being elevated to higher ground with their careers.
